OpenAI is falling apart! Elon is doing the antisemitism! And we’re talking about… none of it!
Unfortunately, it’s been a difficult week to post. I had two family members pass away in the last week, so between travel and funerals it’s been hard to find time to write. But I wanted to let you know that we’ll be back to a regular schedule by Friday.
And speaking of regular schedules, the blog has been growing and I want to get some feedback from you, the readers, the beautiful people who make it possible. We’re going to be hitting 1000 subscribers soon and I’m doing a sanity check on what kind of stuff I should be posting. Right now, the typical schedule is two posts a week - a midweek post that’s usually think-piece-ish, and a weekend post that’s more of a round-up and analysis of various pieces of news from the week. I’ve been thinking about moving from two posts a week to three. This would likely mean taking the weekend post (which is always pretty large) and splitting it into two smaller posts, one in the middle of the week. The rough schedule of ‘about one in three posts are paywalled’ would remain the same. Vote below whether you like the 2 posts or 3 posts per week schedule better. And comment if you have particular reasons why!1
Also! As the blog keeps growing, I’m thinking about what kind of stuff I can add to make the paid subscriber experience better. Right now you get access to paywalled posts and the warm glow of supporting a small-time writer, but you could get even more! Vote below if you’d make use of the following perks:
In general, if there’s anything you want to see more of, less of, etc - let me know! Power to the people, may your reign of terror never end. Thanks for reading and see you all again on Friday.
I’ll also be checking to see what paid subs comment specifically and weighing their opinions more, because paid subs are just smarter, better people than the rest of you.
I'm sorry for your loss. Also, as a paid subscriber, I'm happy to just continue paying for what you're doing; I don't need anything extra; I appreciate what you're doing and find the content you create already worth my money.
As one of those smarter and better people, I welcome three posts, as it gives me more opportunities to scroll down to the comment section without reading, post something straddling the thin line between vapid and witty based on the headline, and receive internet clout points.
Because what else is there other than to post about other people's posts about posting.
