I have cold sweats from my IRL friends discovering that "Posting Matt" is a different beast than "IG Matt" who barely exists. If I can't get real weird with it, what's even the point?

A lot of people don't want to be integrated with Facebook especially, because facebook sucks and you don't actually want to talk to the people there or have them see your stuff.
Interesting and accurate. I was not on the first wave of FB users, because I didn't go to an Ivy, but I was in that second wave when it rolled out to a bunch of other colleges, and I definitely recall when everyone's uncle got on there.
I wonder if people are going to start being more selective on who they let follow them on IG now as a way to try to gatekeep their Threads posting.
Judging from the early returns of Threads there seems to be an interesting merging going on with instagram normal people/influencers and twitter posters. Maybe we'll see the different groups create an equilibrium of sorts with each other
