Thanks for being subscribed to Infinite Scroll! It’s been a little more than a month since we launched, and I hope you’ve enjoyed it so far. My goal with this blog is to explore the ways in which we use social spaces, build theories about how the social web works, and document the most interesting and wild things happening in social media today. There’s already been a ton of great response to more cerebral pieces like Ugh, Capitalism, The One Ring of Posting, and Reddit’s Blackout and a Theory of User Power. I’ve also had a ton of fun with the weekly This Week In Discourse series, which publishes every Friday to document the weirdest nonsense happening online.
Infinite Scroll has been fully free for its first month, but will soon be moving to a hybrid paid/free model. That switch will take place at some point in July. If you enjoy the blog, please consider signing up for a paid subscription (if you’re already a paid subscriber, you’re just the best). I’m offering a 20% discount for anyone signing up before the end of June.
My goal is to have roughly two out of every three articles free moving forward. I’d like the majority of posts to still be free and accessible to everyone, while still providing value for paid subscribers. I won’t be counting exactly, but that’s the goal. Sometime in mid-July, I’ll begin paywalling 1 out of 3 posts.
Thanks so much for reading, and thanks to everyone who can support the blog. Since you read to the end here’s an insane tweet to ruin your day.
